The beauty in commissioned works using such a media as Linocut prints, is that it’s handmade, unique and personal, but also the possibility to produce more than one ‚original‘. I’ve been commissioned to create prints that are used to create unique cards, portraits and pure art works. ‚Mini-Portraits‘
Portrait commissions are never easy but exciting. The process starts by the subject sending a photograph, one which is detailed and has a degree of contrast. From there the initial drawings are made and sent through. When everybody is happy the process of creating the print begins and a new character to the works comes to the fore. It’s not a photographic process, but a hand made one, one which brings an element of the subject and the artist together in one work.
